If you’ve been around here for long, you’ve probably already heard how obsessed I am with the book, The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles.
I first read this book when my business made it’s first $1,000 in one month. This was around my 9-5 job and I had worked for this for a long time. It was a big deal…!
It’s when I started getting really excited about the potential that Urban 20 Something had. It’s when I really started to see that a side hustle could be more than just walking dogs or babysitting. It’s when I started seeing that this could change my life.
That book taught me SO much about the person I needed to become to build real wealth. A person that isn’t scared, that doesn’t act out of fear, and that doesn’t stay in indecision. A person that dreams big (and then bigger and then bigger) and believes so strongly that the dream is achievable that they’re crazy enough to do what it takes to make it happen.
In fact, I summarized my ten biggest takeaways from that book in one of my favorite podcast episodes yet!
When I found this book, I wanted to learn everything I possibly could about its teachings. From studying it, I found out about the teachings of David Neagle. David is a success coach, an author, and the host of the Successful Mind podcast.
David has an incredibly inspiring story. He grew up in the lower-middle-class midwest as a forklift driver.
Using many of the teachings in the Science of Getting Rich (and years and years of hard work!) he is now a multi-million dollar business owner.
It was an honor and privilege to be featured as his newest Mover and Shaker on his podcast this week. NAME, this one of the most vulnerable interviews I’ve ever done!
Interview with David Neagle
In this episode, we discuss:
- How my dream of living in New York City drove me to create a side hustle that would eventually become my business.
- How the sudden loss of my father allowed me to fully commit to my passion and leave my 9-5 job.
- How cultivating a daily practice of gratitude breeds confidence and self-awareness, leading to more opportunities.
I’d love to hear what you think of the episode! Email me back and let me know!
And, in case I haven’t said it enough, if you’re looking for a transformation in your income, listen to the audio version of the Science of Getting Rich. I truly believe that if you understand this book, you’ll never worry about money again!
