I’m so excited to share our New York City Engagement Shoot photos with you in a very personal post.
When Adam and I got engaged, one of our first priorities was a photographer and videographer. We knew that our video and photos would be the memories we’d have of this day for the rest of our lives! And, we have been told that your wedding day flies by, so it’s so important to have photos you love.
The problem was that when searching for photographers, finding the qualities we were looking for within photographers was a struggle. A lot of photos looked the same (it’s hard not to have a beautiful wedding!). And then for some reason, we noticed a lot of photographers in New York were using very dark pre sets, and that did not feel to fit the theme of our wedding at all. So far, our photographer hunt has been the hardest part of our wedding planning experience!
In the end, we went with Susan Shek and were SO relieved when we found her and that she was available on our date. We loved the light and colorful nature of her photos, the way she captured New York City, and most importantly, the emotion she managed to capture so purely. All that topped off with her glowing reviews on Wedding Wire, and we were sold! We can’t wait to see her at our wedding next year!
Adam and I both seemed to know without even discussing it that we wanted to have our photos in Central Park. Since our shoot ended up being in November, we did think that it could be a bit cold. We never would’ve thought it would snow so early on! We felt like this snowfall was meant to be and love how the photos turned out.
New York City Engagement Shoot at the Plaza Hotel
For this look, I wore a Mango dress that I got years ago, and Christian Louboutin heels.
After we spent time in the beautiful Plaza Hotel, we went outside and were greeted by the first snow of the year!
On Fifth Avenue
Here, I wore the same look as above, with a Tahari coat.
New York City Engagement Shoot in Central Park
For this look, we both wore Burberry scarves but with different color schemes. My sweater dress was from Nordstrom last year (I don’t know that they sell it again now!) and Tory Burch boots.
Thanks for checking out our engagement shoot! Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes posts as we plan our New York City wedding.
