Have you ever considered your entrepreneurship or your side hustle a form of self-love? It's one of the biggest and most important parts! Click through to find out why.

Have you ever thought of your side hustles, your entrepreneurship goals and your creation of products and services as a form of self-love? It’s a concept that’s been very clear on my heart in the first half of 2018, and I want to share why with you today.

Sometimes, we can think of our dreams and goals as selfish.

We think that if we go for something different, it could be at the cost of our friendships, our spare time, and wonder what others would think.

We can convince ourselves that we’re grateful for how things are, so why would we need to change things? After all, plenty of people have plenty less and manage to be happy that way, so shouldn’t we be too?

But here’s where that concept falls short:

It’s up to you to make your dreams come true. It’s up to you to create a business, it’s up to you make your financial dreams your reality, it’s up to you to bring your passions to the world so they can benefit from them.

If you don’t, you are neglecting your own goals and desires. And no one else is going to go for your dreams for you, it’s up to you.

And, going for those dreams and making them come true isn’t just about the dreams themselves, it’s about showing up for yourself, proving to yourself that you will do what it takes to make your life the way you dreamed it’d be, and are your own best friend.

That type of dedication for yourself is the biggest form of self-love I can think of, and when we show up for ourselves and love ourselves, we become the best versions of ourselves.

It’s from that place of self-love that you build your capacity to love others, too.

Once you’ve shown yourself that you can always rely on yourself to make more money, to live out your passions, to take chances for yourself, and to not give up, you have the confidence and the ability to support other people in your life like never before. You not only make your dreams come true, but you also become a better partner, parents, child, friend, employee, employer…

So the truth is that going for your dreams and goals is actually the least selfish thing you can do.

Have you ever considered your entrepreneurship or your side hustle a form of self-love? It's one of the biggest and most important parts! Click through to find out why.

This concept is something I’ve heavily embraced over the past couple of months, and the results I’ve seen both within my business and personal life have blown me away.

I no longer feel like things are too expensive in general. If I want something and don’t have the money at the moment, I know that I can make enough to have it and put it on my “to-buy” list confidently, because I’ve proven to myself that I will make more money for myself.

I no longer make excuses for not having time to work on certain dreams or goals because I’m too busy, because I’ve proven to myself that I can prioritize what matters most.

I no longer think I might not see some of my bucket list travel destinations, because I’ve proven to myself that I can make money from my laptop.

I no longer wait for the “right time” before I make moves or make changes, because I’ve proven to myself that I can adjust accordingly throughout the journey.

I no longer worry that some of my dreams might not come true or aren’t meant for me, because I’ve proven to myself that I can achieve things beyond what I may have thought possible for myself.

I share this very personal information with you not to brag, but to share the shifts I’ve seen in my own life when I’ve stopped apologizing for making my dreams a priority and learned that I will always come through for myself.

Never again will I go back to the way I used to live… worried about money, sad that my dreams were unrealistic, concerned that others achieved what I wanted first and there was no room for me, surrendering to the “just getting by” way of life I was used to, and not spending my time creating or doing what I love.

Is that what you want too?

How can you come through for yourself and flip those thoughts holding you back? How can you rely on yourself to make your dreams come true? How can you not let yourself down? How can you move past whatever is holding you back?

This is not about being selfish. This is about being your own best friend and protecting your light. This is about proving to yourself, once and for all, that no obstacle is too big for you to handle.

Don’t let anyone, anything or any obstacle dim your light. It’s up to you to do whatever it takes to protect it and keep it bright. It’s your biggest job in the world.

Keep shining!
