How I Earned $47,656 in December as a Stay-at-Home Mom

As a mom of two boys and the primary caregiver in my family, balancing motherhood with running a successful business is the chaos my dreams are made of.

December is one of the busiest months of the year for many reasons, but despite the holiday chaos, I earned $47,656—all while being a stay-at-home mom (SAHM). Here’s a transparent breakdown of where that income came from and some key takeaways from the month.

December as a SAHM in NYC

December was magical, not just for the business milestones but for the memories I created with my boys. We spent most of our days enjoying the festive beauty of NYC at Christmas. From the train show at the Botanical Gardens to brunch with Santa at Macy’s, the Rockefeller Center tree, and more, it was a season to cherish. Here’s a reel showcasing the top 10 things we did.

My absolute favorite thing I did with my toddler was the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! Here’s a quick vlog including how much passive income I made during it.

It was also my emergence out of the “fourth trimester” as my newborn transitioned out of the newborn phase. We started sleeping longer stretches which makes all the difference. Overall, I’m feeling good and deeply thankful for this beautiful little soul and for getting to spend so much quality time with my boys.

December Business Recap

December also marked some major wins for my business. We closed out the enrollment for our 2025 Mastermind with over a quarter of a million launch and a record number of applications. This success is largely thanks to the strong lead generation provided by my Passive Park Sales system.

Additionally, I hosted our second annual Christmas in NYC Retreat, which was such a special experience. We dove deep into data and scaling strategies while enjoying the magic of Christmas in NYC with visits to Bryant Park and Tavern on the Green. It was an incredible way to wrap up the year with a focus on both business and connection.

Here’s a video inside our retreat!

Income Breakdown

Coaching + Consulting

Total: $26,146

The highest income category is expectedly coaching and consulting work I (Leah) do with clients directly. This mostly includes coaching of my Mastermind, as well as off coaching via intensives, etc.

My Mastermind is the heart and soul of my business and it’s where I pour the most of my time and energy.

Passive Digital Products

Total: $8,554

This income came from digital courses and products. What makes this category so exciting is that it’s completely automated. While I was spending time with my family, these products were working for me in the background.

VIP Days

Total: $10,997

VIP Days are one of my favorite offerings because they allow me to work 1:1 with clients, delivering immense value in a short amount of time. These immersive days focus on achieving significant results for my clients, whether it’s business strategy, marketing plans, or crafting their passive income streams. I only offer a few of these a year and they’re so special.

Assistant Coach

Total: $1,969

This income came from assistant coaching services offered through my programs. It’s a smaller piece of the pie but still a valuable addition to my overall revenue streams and it’s completely passive.

Expenses

I’ve decided not to share a full breakdown of my business expenses because I don’t think it’s as helpful as people assume it’d be. I very much value transparency and want to be an honest look inside a business that I often found myself looking for long the way. Which is why I wanted to start publishing these!

However, profit margins SHOULD vary so much with each business, which is why I don’t want to anyone to compare theirs to mine.

For one, I live in New York City, paying some of the highest taxes in the country. I’ve set my business up to take this into consideration. If I lived in Florida, a state with no state income tax, I’d think of my profit margin entirely differently.

Additionally, your goal profit should take into consideration your current business goals. When I was dramatically scaling my business, I spent around 75% of my income BACK into my business, making my overall profit quite low. But I didn’t care, I wanted to grow quickly and my day-to-day expenses were relatively low as I didn’t have kids. Nowadays, growth at all costs is NOT the goal and my profit margin is much higher. But that’s the season I’m in.

That said, here are my biggest expenses:

  • Paid ads
  • Team
  • Business coaching
  • Experiences/ meals for the Christmas in NYC Retreat

December Summary

1. Start Your Passive Income Stream Now
If you don’t have a passive income stream set up, you should start ASAP as it will only grow more the sooner you start. Having automated systems in place was a game-changer for me, allowing me to earn even when I wasn’t actively working.

2. Perfect What You Already Have
Focus less on creating more programs and more on perfecting the marketing and delivery of what you already offer. My quarter of a million dollar Mastermind launch was the 8th time I’ve run the program, and it’s this repetition and refinement that have made it so successful.

3. Romanticize Your Life
Christmas in NYC always brings me back to being a little kid, and seeing it through my own children’s eyes is what life is all about. I’m so grateful I have a business that allows me to enjoy these moments fully.
