Networking
Networking is not just for helping you get a job. It’s how you’ll meet the people and find the opportunities that will shape your path. This blog focuses on two main kinds of networking:
Networking in person
This is your traditional form of networking, but we’re looking at it through a more realistic, actionable light. Networking at “networking events” is usually awkward, forced and ineffective. We encourage you to network everywhere you go, including, yes, bars! You never know who you’ll meet or what they have to offer. And, networking in relaxed spaces is usually easier and more comfortable for everyone involved. Here’s my craziest and most successful story to date here.
Networking online
It might sound a bit weird at first: networking and potentially hanging out with people that you meet on the internet. But the truth is that the internet opens up crazy new possibilities regarding who we can reach and connect with. We can do this through social media, cold e-mailing or simply finding out more about a person and then pursuing a connection with them.
